Join us for our free community day at the museum to celebrate the opening of The Broad’s new collection show, Joseph Beuys: In Defense of Nature. The event will feature a DJ Set by In Sheep’s Clothing, a Family Weekend Workshop, and an exhibition-themed photobooth.
In Sheep's Clothing is a home for analog music culture that cultivates discovery and community through active listening experiences, record popups, and music editorial. For the opening day of Joseph Beuys: In Defense of Nature, In Sheep’s Clothing will spin a selection of Krautrock classics on vinyl, including Can, NEU!, Kraftwerk, Ash Ra Tempel, and more, along with deeper cuts that expand on the sound that the post-World War II experimental music pioneers developed in Germany.
We will also be hosting a Family Weekend Workshop, where kids and their families can get creative with native plants, inspired by Social Forest: Oaks of Tovaangar, our reforestation project in conjunction with the exhibition. Join a workshop led by North East Trees and learn how to select and germinate acorns, care for a growing sapling, and discover the importance of oak reforestation in the Los Angeles basin. This program is intended for children aged 3+ and their families.

In Sheep’s Clothing hi-fi began in 2018 as a listening bar in Los Angeles’ Arts District. Powered by a legendary Klipschorn soundsystem and a collection of 300+ records from around the world, In Sheep’s Clothing hi-fi created a truly one-of-a-kind sonic music discovery experience that took the jazz-kissa concept to new heights. Currently, In Sheep's Clothing operates a record store pop-up in collaboration with independent radio station dublab. The community-oriented market, called Sound & Vision, is located at ROW DTLA and frequently hosts listening sessions, release parties, vinyl pop-ups, and live performances.
