Keith Haring arrived in New York in 1978, and soon embodied the energy of the thriving downtown art scene. During his brief career, lasting just over a decade, Haring produced an extraordinary number of drawings, paintings, public artworks, sculptures, videos, collages, and ceramics, as well as clothing designs and merchandise. In his popular iconic style, Haring’s works often aggressively address sociopolitical themes. Untitled presents a critique of the excesses of capitalism. The overtired pig is suckled by little men born out of the creature’s own vomit. The spew itself is money green and made of the machinery of production, acceleration, and increase. The cyclical image leaves no one in control and no way out.
